About the Curator
Sita Reddy is an independent scholar trained in the history and sociology of medicine, and a museum practitioner with curatorial experience ranging from blockbuster art exhibitions to alternative galleries and archival collections. Her current work revolves around botanical art archives in India, and Deccan Hyderabad's archives of art, intangible heritage, and oral histories. She was awarded the IFA's Arts documentation and research grant in 2015, and now holds a Research Bursary grant from the Wellcome Trust for a new project (and projected exhibition during the Kochi Biennale 2018) on the botanical arts of Indian medicinal plants that will bring historical archives into critical dialogue with contemporary art.
